Parent/Guardian NEWSLETTER
Welcome Back! I hope that all of our students are excited to get back to school! For those of you that are brand new to CSHS, this letter will serve as the first installment of the weekly newsletter that will be sent to all the parents/guardians of China Spring High School. Hopefully, the weekly parent newsletters will alleviate any stress or confusion about upcoming and ongoing event. All future parent newsletters will be pushed out at 3:00 pm on Sundays.
I want to share with you a list of people in the front office that parents and guardians might need to contact throughout the school year, also included are the China Spring High School and Twitter accounts:

Thursday, August 1st, students will receive new schedules during 1st period. There will be signs hung in the cafeteria and hallway (by library) by student alphabetical order, so they know their 1st period classroom. During 1st period the students will find out if they have A, B, or C lunch. Dual Credit students will pick up their schedules in the commons area from Mrs. Harvey. She will be stationed in the commons between 8:15 am - 8:45 am. If you have questions regarding lunches following the first day of school do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Dress Code:
The Dress Code for CSHS for the 2024-2025 school year is below.
· Clothing should be worn for the purpose for which it was designed.
· Sleepwear, pajamas, and costumes are not permitted.
· Articles of clothing with suggestive writing or pictures, or inappropriate advertising, slogans, or symbols are prohibited.
· Students will not wear or have in their possession items that are inappropriate for school.
· Any clothing which may relate to gang symbols is prohibited.
· Shoes must be worn at all times. House shoes, cleated shoes, or any shoes that mark or damage floor coverings, are not allowed.
· Caps, hats, visors, hoodie sweaters with hoodies worn covering the head, other articles of clothing that cover the head, and sunglasses are not to be worn inside school buildings.
· Hemlines on all dresses, skirts, and shorts must not be shorter than mid-thigh length.
· Pants may not have holes above mid-thigh length. No sagging pants are allowed.
· Tights, leggings, or spandex may only be worn with a shirt, skirt, dress, or shorts that cover both the front and the back (no sheer panels; no skin may show through).
· Jackets or coats must not be longer than mid-thigh length.
· Tank tops (less than two inches wide on the shoulder strap), halters, midriff tops, tube tops are not allowed.
· Open knit or unlined fishnet jerseys are not allowed unless they are worn over a T-shirt or blouse, or completely covered with a jacket.
· Shirts with sleeves cut out are not allowed.
· Excessively tight or baggy clothing is not allowed.
· All undergarments must be covered.
· Students’ hair must be clean, neat, and well-groomed. Hairstyles must not obstruct the student’s vision or a view of the student’s face. Unnatural colors are not allowed.
· Piercing for the ear(s) and a single stud in the nose are allowed. Any other visible body piercings, including gauges, are not allowed.
· Visible tattoos or fake tattoos are not allowed. Tattoos or fake tattoos must be covered while attending school.
· No blankets may be brought to school and worn around the student’s body.
· No facial hair allowed, and sideburns cannot grow past the bottom of the earlobe.

Registration for 2024-2025:
There are three required forms that will need to be signed by parents/guardians and students. Most people have already completed this during the registration process. The required signed forms are: High School Compact, Drug Testing Form, Student Acknowledgment for Handbook, Computer Network, and Bus Rules. A Current proof of residency must be on file as well. If your student has registered, but you have not submitted a proof of residency the parent or guardian will need to provide a current water or electric bill in order for your student to start day one. If your student is missing any part of registration, they will not receive a schedule for 1st period, and will need to report to the cafeteria to complete registration. Food Delivery Services:
Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, China Spring High School will not accept any food delivery services such as grub-hub, door dash, etc. Any food delivered must be brought to the school by the parent or guardian. Don not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Cell Phones:
Students will be allowed to have their phones or personal electronic device in the cafeteria or commons (morning and lunch), and they will be able to listen to music (with headphones) during passing periods. Once the students enter the classroom they will need to place their phones in a cell phone holder (front of the class that is visible to students and teachers). They will be able to get their phone at the end of class.
Drop-off and Pick-up:
All buses will drop-off and pick-up students at the front entrance of the school, by the front office. All car riders will be dropped off and picked up in front of the cafeteria each morning and afternoon. If you have questions do not hesitate to contact the front office.
Dual Credit Information:
Mrs. Harvey sent information regarding Dual Credit on Friday. Dual Credit courses begin Monday, August 26th, and all payments must be made to MCC by Friday, August 16th. If courses are not paid for by the MCC deadline your student(s) will be dropped from Dual Credit. There will be a mandatory meeting with MCC staff present to show students platforms, procedures, ect., on August 22nd at 8:00 am in cafeteria. If you have questions regarding Dual Credit contact Mrs. Meghan Harvey.

Dual Credit Students need to report no later than 8:45 to pick up schedules
