Parent/Guardian NEWSLETTER
Good afternoon! Below you will see the Week at a Glance. Fall final exams will begin on Wednesday, December 18th and run through Thursday, December 21st. There are no early releases unless your student(s) had 1st period dual credit (seniors or juniors). This week we will have dress-up days that are included in the upcoming events for students and staff to participate. The CSHS office will be closed December 20th – January 5th, and the first day back will be Monday, January 6th. I hope that everyone enjoys the holidays with their families. Finally, dual credit starts on Monday, January 13th.
Attendance Information: If your student has been out sick, or they will miss for another reason please contact Ms. Ema Moes, CSHS Attendance Clerk. Students can have up to four parent notes per semester. One absence = one parent note. I need your help with attendance as our campus attendance for this school year is well below where it has been historically.
Dr. Notes: As we get further into our year, I need parents and guardians help in ensuring that our students turn in Dr. notes when they have Dr. appointments. If a student goes to an appointment and comes back the same day, or their appointment is at the end of a day, they can supply a Dr.’s note so the absence is excused. Dr. notes can be emailed to Mrs. Moes or faxed to 254-836-1418.
Counselor Information: Effective the 2022 school year completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) became a graduation requirement? This application is now open and available for completion. Please visit our Counseling and Guidance webpage for more information regarding this graduation requirement: FAFSA info on CSHS website
The counselors will be visiting Government/Economic classes in January to help your students create their accounts. If you, and your student would like to complete this sooner you certainly can. Below is a video from the studentaid.gov website for reference:
Please note your personal tax information is not visible to any CSISD employee. After completion of the FAFSA application your student's counselor just needs a copy of the confirmation email you and your student will receive. If you have any questions please contact:

Spring Dual Credit: Dual Credit for CSHS will begin Monday, January 13th. Mrs. Harvey sent an email to all dual credit parents and students last week. If you have questions regarding dual credit do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Meghan Harvey.
Final Exam Schedule: CSHS will give fall final exams December 18th – 19th. The exams will count for10% of a student’s fall semester average. There are no exemptions given for fall exams. There will be no early release during exams. Buses will run at 3:56 pm Monday through Thursday. If a student has dual credit they can leave on Thursday, December 19th, at 2:26 pm.
