Parent/Guardian NEWSLETTER

Good afternoon!  I want to remind parents about the progress reports that will be available through parent portal tomorrow.  Prom ticket sales are still ongoing.  Students need to make sure that they stop off at the table in the cafeteria to ensure they are cleared to purchase tickets.  If you have questions let me know.  All students that are currently taking Biology will take their End of Course (STAAR) exam on Tuesday, April 22nd. On Wednesday, April 23rd, sophomores will take the TSIA-2 exam. Thursday, April 24th, MCC and TSTC will be on campus to meet with current seniors who are planning on attending one of those colleges in the fall. Finally, I want to congratulate both golf teams as they have advanced to the State Tournaments and this weekend we have a handful of students that will compete at the Region 3 UIL Academic Meet. Good luck to all three groups.

Attendance Information:  If your student has been out sick, or they will miss for another reason please contact Ms. Ema Moes,CSHS Attendance Clerk.  Students can have up to four parent notes per semester.  One absence = one parent note.

Dr. Notes:  As we get further into our year, I need parents and guardians help in ensuring that our students turn in Dr. notes when they have Dr. appointments.  If a student goes to an appointment and comes back the same day, or their appointment is at the end of a day, they can supply a Dr.’s note so the absence is excused.  Dr. notes can be emailed to Ms. Moes or faxed to 254-836-1418.

Class Dues: A student must be current on their class dues in order to attend the Junior-Senior Prom.  Class fees are $25 9th – 11th grade, and they are $35 for 12th Grade.  Unpaid class dues will be taken during lunches in the cafeteria.

2025 CSHS Junior-Senior Prom:  The CSHS Junior-Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, May 3rd.  The event will be held in the China Spring High School Main Gym, and the theme is Hollywood.  CSHS juniors and seniors are allowed to attend and their date.  Prom tickets are $30 and can be purchased online through Hometown Ticketing.  Prom Information is attached to this email.

Class of 2025 Graduation: The Class of 2025 Graduation ceremony will be held at Baylor’s Ferrell Center on Friday, May 30th.  The ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm.  As we get closer I will share more information.

Child Nutrition Survey: Help us improve your child’s school dining experience! Our Child Nutrition team is gathering feedback on food service, menu options, and overall satisfaction. Please take a few minutes to complete this brief survey.

2025 End of Course (EOC) Test Dates:  I want to share the dates for the five End of Course (EOC) exams that high school students are required to pass in order to graduate.  If a student is unsuccessful on an EOC they will be required to attend summer school.  Once those dates are set I will communicate them.  If you have questions regarding the End of Course exams reach out to your student(s)’ counselor.
