Senior Parents:
– In 2022, completion of the FAFSA became a graduation requirement.
The 2026-2027 FAFSA form is slated to become available Wednesday, October 1st.
We will be in regular Government/Economics courses October 13th and October 14th to help students create their FSAid’s to help you all with this process. After your student has their FSAID, you will create one as well and the form can be completed.

–Senior Picture Retakes are October 20th! There is a sign-up sheet outside the yearbook classroom, (Room 95) for any student needing a retake. You MUST sign up in order to get your picture re-taken
–Graduation Save-the-date: Saturday, May 30th, at 2:00pm, CSHS will celebrate the class of 2026 at the Ferrell Center on the campus of Baylor University. More information to follow in the coming months!
All Parents:
–9th-11th Grade Picture retakes are October 21st. Sign ups are outside the yearbook classroom (Room 95). Please have your student sign the sheet outside Mr. Riedell’s yearbook room if they are needing picture retakes.
–PSAT Opportunity
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to take the PSAT on campus during the school day. The test will be held on October 22nd, and the cost is $20.
Here are a few reasons why taking the PSAT is beneficial:
Get a Preview: Understand how you might perform on the SAT.
Identify Areas for Improvement: Target specific areas to focus on for SAT preparation.
National Merit Recognition: Juniors, high scores on the PSAT can lead to National Merit recognition, including Semifinalist and Finalist status, and potentially National Merit scholarships.

VATRE Information Meetings
China Spring ISD is hosting a series of Information Meetings about the upcoming Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE). Superintendent Dr. Marc Faulkner will review how school funding works, the impact of the VATRE on the school tax rate, and the ballot language voters will see in November.

CELL PHONES
Starting this school year, a new Texas state law (HB 1481) takes effect prohibiting the use of personal communication devices at any time during the school day (7:50-3:56). A personal communication device is:
Cell Phone
Smartwatch
Personal Tablet of any kind
AirPods
Pager or other electronic communication device
Phones must be stored away in the student’s backpack during the school day and MAY NOT be brought out at any time, including lunch and passing periods. Disciplinary consequences will be applied and are outlined in the handbook. A brief summary of the discipline is as follows:
1st offense - phone is taken up and student issued a warning. Parent may pick up the student’s phone
2nd offense - phone is taken up and student is issued 1 day of ISS (In-school suspension). Parent may pick up the student’s phone. Intervention plan developed to limit further offenses.
3rd offense - phone is taken up and student is issued 3 days of ISS. Parent/administrator conference is scheduled. Further Intervention methods discussed to avoid further discipline.
Parent may pick up the student’s phone.
4th offense - phone is taken up and student issued 5 days of ISS. Parent conference to discuss further disciplinary action.
EXCEPTIONS
A student has an IEP or 504 Plan that requires device access
A physician’s order is on file for a medical need
A school administrator grants permission for safety or legal reasons.
MORNING TUTORIALS
Morning tutorials are offered until 7:50 each morning. Students attending tutorials must be here by 7:25 so that they can make their way to the tutoring teacher on time.
Detention will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 4:00 to 5:00. Students who are assigned a detention for tardies or misbehavior shall serve detention the week they are assigned. Failure to serve detention will result in further disciplinary consequences.
FOOD DELIVERY
China Spring High School DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY FOOD DELIVERY SERVES SUCH AS GRUB-HUB, DOOR DASH, UBER EATS, etc. Any food delivered MUST be brought to the school by the parent or guardian.

NO CELL PHONES OR OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES - Phones and all other electronic devices must be stored away in the student’s backpack for the entire school day (7:50-3:56). Violation of this rule will result in disciplinary action.
Attendance
We take attendance every period at CSHS. If you are going to be absent, please let the office know.
DRESS CODE - Students must adhere to CSISD dress code every school day.
Hair must be natural color
NO Facial Hair
Shorts/skirts must be mid-thigh length (7” inseam)
Piercings are limited to ears and ONE STUD in the nose.
Tattoos must be covered
Rips in jeans must be below mid-thigh and no midriff is allowed to show
Leggings may be worn, but the shirt must be long enough to cover the middle area.
Students will be given a chance to rectify their dress if they are out of code. Students who do not rectify will be sent to ISS until their dress is back in code. The COMPLETE DRESS CODE is Below:
Clothing should be worn for the purpose for which it was designed.
· Sleepwear, pajamas, and costumes are not permitted.
· Articles of clothing with suggestive writing or pictures, or inappropriate advertising, slogans, or symbols are prohibited.
· Students will not wear or have in their possession items that are inappropriate for school.
· Any clothing which may relate to gang symbols is prohibited.
· Shoes must be worn at all times. House shoes, cleated shoes, or any shoes that mark or damage floor coverings, are not allowed.
· Caps, hats, visors, hoodie sweaters with hoodies worn covering the head, other articles of clothing that cover the head, and sunglasses are not to be worn inside school buildings.
· Hemlines on all dresses, skirts, and shorts must not be shorter than mid-thigh length.
· Pants may not have holes above mid-thigh length. No sagging pants are allowed.
· Tights, leggings, or spandex may only be worn with a shirt, skirt, dress, or shorts that cover both the front and the back (no sheer panels; no skin may show through).
· Jackets or coats must not be longer than mid-thigh length.
· Tank tops (less than two inches wide on the shoulder strap), halters, midriff tops, tube tops are not allowed.
· Open knit or unlined fishnet jerseys are not allowed unless they are worn over a T-shirt or blouse, or completely covered with a jacket.
· Shirts with sleeves cut out are not allowed.
· Excessively tight or baggy clothing is not allowed.
· All undergarments must be covered.
· Students’ hair must be clean, neat, and well-groomed. Hairstyles must not obstruct the student’s vision or a view of the student’s face. Unnatural colors are not allowed.
· Piercing for the ear(s) and a single stud in the nose are allowed. Any other visible body piercings, including gauges, are not allowed.
· Visible tattoos or fake tattoos are not allowed. Tattoos or fake tattoos must be covered while attending school.
· No blankets may be brought to school and worn around the student’s body.
· No facial hair allowed, and sideburns cannot grow past the bottom of the earlobe.

The payment window will begin September 8th and close September 18th. Please pay cash or check made payable to China Spring High School in the counseling center.

Officer Rocha
Parking passes must be purchased if you’re driving a car to the CSHS campus. The driver must provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for the car they will be driving to campus.
Parking passes are $10 and can be bought in Officer Rocha’s office or purchased at myschoolbucks.
