HAPPENINGS:
DRESS FOR YOUR FUTURE CAREER DAY (Special Project!):
On Tuesday, December 16th, we’re asking all students to participate in our campus special project by dressing for their future career! Students may wear clothing that represents what they hope to do when they grow up (doctor, teacher, engineer, artist, etc.). Christmas hats are still welcome, so feel free to pair them with your career-day outfit for some holiday fun!
GRADE LEVEL CHRISTMAS PARTIES:
Our grade level Christmas parties will be held Thursday, December 18th from 8:10-15 to 8:45. Teachers will be communicating with families about party specifics, including schedules and any requested items. As a reminder, all guests must be on the student’s approved visitor list in the Parent Portal and must have “Right to Transport” in order to sign a student out. We ask that a maximum of two (2) guests per student attend, and please refrain from bringing siblings.
At the conclusion of the parties, everyone is invited to attend the band concert in the gym at 9:00 AM.
You are welcome to sign your child out after their Christmas party or after the band concert.
Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe and celebrations running smoothly!

We are continuing to see a dip in our attendance this week. Please remind your child not to share their food or drinks and wash their hands.
ATTENDANCE INCENTIVES:
Wheel of Names: Students with perfect attendance will go on a wheel of names for a chance to get a scratch off to win prizes on campus
At the end of each month, any student who has perfect attendance for that month will be entered in a drawing to win an Owala water bottle.
Students with perfect attendance at the end of each 9 weeks will earn 10 points for their house.
Stay tuned for more attendance incentives.
ATTENDANCE REMINDERS:
90% Law ~ The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.
Daily attendance ~ Attendance is taken every day at 9:30AM. Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.
When absent ~ Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse). For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor's note or other formal documentation is required.
All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.
If your child will not be at school, please let our attendance clerk, Mrs. Fulton, know at afulton@chinaspringisd.net
Attendance tracking looks at whole and partial day absences. Partial day absences include arriving at school late or leaving early without a medical excuse or one of the four parent notes for the semester.
